Setup HTTPS on your White Label

Chaturbate provides a self-serve tool for affiliates to enable TLS on their white labels. TLS is a secure communication protocol that is often referred to by its predecessor name, SSL.  Enabling TLS means that your website will be accessed through HTTPS and communications between the website and user will be encrypted.

How to migrate your white labels to HTTPS

The White Labels Management page provides instructions to verify domain ownership, setup HTTPS on subdomains, and redirect the domain apex to the www subdomain if desired.

  1. Click on [add] under "HTTPS Domains" for the whitelabel you would like to set up.
  2. Type in your domain name and click Submit.

Option 1: Create a CNAME record

As part of the domain ownership verification process and setting up HTTPS on your whitelabel, you will need to create a CNAME record in your DNS settings. A CNAME record is a "canonical name" entry which points an alias name to host. Most domain registrars provide a DNS admin page to create DNS records which looks similar to:

Find your own Name/Host string (wl-verify-XXXXXXXX, where X's are replaced by a unique value) by using the self-serve tool on the White Labels Management page under "HTTPS Domains."

  1. On your domain registrar's site, there should be an option to "Manage" your domain.
  2. Go to DNS Management.
  3. Create a new record of type "CNAME."
  4. For Host or Name, use the Name in the self-serve tool.
  5. For Value, use the Value in the self-serve tool.
  6. Click Verify in the self-serve tool, please note this process can take some time.  If your domain isn't verified immediately please wait and try again later.

Once you have created the first CNAME record and it is verified, complete the same steps for a second CNAME record with a Host/Name of "www" and a Value of cname.whitelabel.chaturbate.com.

Option 2: Create a TXT record

TXT records are another type of DNS entry which associate a host with arbitrary text.   A TXT record may be used instead of CNAME for the domain verification step.  Please see the White Labels Management page to find the unique verification code for your domain.
