If you are not receiving follower email notifications, make sure your email address is verified. Your
email must be verified to receive notifications.
Another solution would be to click on the "My Profile" link in the top right of the site and go to the "Settings & Privacy" tab. Next, select "Yes" for the entry that says "Email me when someone I follow comes online".
