Private Shows
Private shows are one-on-one shows that charge the viewer by the minute at a rate selected by you. This is a great way to accumulate tokens faster. In addition to setting the token-per-minute rate, you can also set the minimum length of a private show on the “Settings & Privacy” tab.
Viewers can initiate a private show by sending a request, they cannot be initiated by broadcasters. You will see a notification pop-up under your cam when a viewer requests a private show. Click the "Start Private" link to accept and start a private show.
When the private show starts, you and the viewer will go into a private chat room and your stream will be only visible to the private show requester. You can optionally allow “Spy Shows,” which let viewers pay to see the private show stream; however, they cannot see the private chat. You also have the option to disable spy shows or set the spy token per minute rate in the “Settings & Privacy” tab.
A private show ends either when the broadcaster or purchasing community member clicks “End Private Show.” After a private show, you automatically go into “Away” mode which gives you time to prepare for going live again.
As an incentive for community members to purchase private shows, broadcasters also have the option to allow community members purchasing a private show to keep a recording of the show in their CB collection. Be sure to check your settings prior to a user requesting a private show so you know if they will be recorded or not (also to make sure your token-per-minute and minimum show length are what you want for the specific show as some independent broadcasters change these for different community members). If you do not want your private shows recorded, you can disable recordings in your “Settings & Privacy” settings.
Feel free to change this, and all other private show options, as often as you like, but keep in mind that a private show recording cannot be provided if you’ve turned the option off and didn’t turn it back on before a user requests a private show.
Make sure to be clear in your agreement with any community member before beginning a private show, e.g., how long the show will be, what will or will not happen during the show, and whether or not you have disabled the recorded show option.
Premium Private Shows
Premium private shows are a new type of private show that doesn’t allow other users to spy. All other private show functionality should be the same as regular private shows.
Premium private shows allow you to charge more for an exclusive experience without needing to change your settings. The new Premium private show settings can be found on the “Settings & Privacy” tab, where you can set a price per minute and minimum minutes. Premium private shows have the same options and settings as regular private shows.
Password Shows
A password show is when you add a password to your room in your “Settings and Privacy” tab. Only viewers with the password can enter your room and see the show. When you add a password, your room is no longer visible on the site until you remove the password. Putting a password on your room is great for a private group conversation, or for shows without the pressure of a minimum minute length, etc. If you’ve agreed with a community member about a token amount for doing a password show, this amount should be tipped to you before the show as the tokens will not automatically be deducted like with a private show. Make sure to be clear in your agreement with any community member before beginning a password show, e.g., how long the show will be and what will or will not happen during the show.
Hidden Shows
Many broadcasters use hidden cam and ticket show apps to host shows where only specific viewers who have met the criteria can view the stream:
- Users who have purchased a ticket can see the stream.
- Viewers can purchase a ticket by tipping a set number of tokens.
Using apps, you can configure hidden cam shows to suit your needs, set the ticket token rate, give free tickets to your fan club members or moderators, and more. You can find hidden cam show apps in the App Directory.
