If you cannot open the App Directory from the Apps tab or in a separate window, security, privacy, VPN, or network-filtering software may be blocking part of the site.
You can usually resolve the issue by allowing both the main site and the App Directory service in the software’s web-protection or allow-list settings.
Note: Settings and labels vary by product, operating system, and software version. The steps below describe the general process.
Quick test: temporarily pause web protection
To check whether security software is causing the problem, temporarily pause its web, threat, or real-time protection if it is safe to do so.
- Open the security or network-protection application.
- Locate the setting for real-time protection, web protection, threat protection, or link scanning.
- Pause that protection for the shortest available period.
- Reload the App Directory.
- If the App Directory loads while protection is paused, the security software is likely blocking access.
Turn protection back on as soon as the test is complete. Do not leave security protection disabled longer than necessary.
Add the main site and App Directory to the allow list
- Open the security or network-protection application.
- Open its activity, history, blocked items, exceptions, or allow-list settings.
- Find the blocked entries for these sites:
- https://chaturbate.com (The main site)
- https://directory-v3-live.cb.dev (The App Directory)
- Open the action menu for each entry.
- Choose the option to allow, unblock, trust, or add the site to exceptions.
- Repeat the process for both entries.
- Confirm that both sites appear as allowed or unblocked.
- Return to the main site and refresh the page.
- Open the App Directory again from the Apps tab.
If you were using the App Directory in a separate window, close and reopen that window after updating the allow-list settings.
If the App Directory is still blocked
- Verify that both the main site and the App Directory service are allowed. Allowing only one may not be sufficient.
- Clear the browser cache or restart the browser, then try again.
- Temporarily test with web protection paused, then turn protection back on and add the blocked sites as exceptions.
- Update or restart the security application and the browser.
- If you use a VPN, proxy, DNS filter, firewall, or managed network, check whether it has a separate blocking or filtering policy.
- Try another network, if available, to determine whether the issue is limited to the current network.
- Check browser extensions (see section below).
- If the issue continues, contact the security software provider or site support. Include a screenshot of the block message and the relevant entry from the software’s activity or protection history.
Check browser extensions
Browser extensions that filter ads, scripts, trackers, connections, or content can also prevent the App Directory from loading correctly.
- Open the browser’s extensions or add-ons page.
- Review extensions related to ad blocking, privacy, security, VPNs, script blocking, content filtering, or parental controls.
- Temporarily disable the relevant extensions, or test the App Directory in a private/incognito window where extensions are disabled.
- Reload the App Directory.
- If it loads, re-enable extensions one at a time to identify the extension causing the issue.
- Keep the extension enabled only if you can add the main site and App Directory service to its allow list.
Only disable extensions temporarily for troubleshooting. Re-enable them after the test and keep trusted security and privacy protections active.
Why this can happen
App directories often rely on several types of background requests, including API calls, live updates, WebSocket connections, media requests, and content delivered from supporting domains. Security software may classify one or more of these requests as tracking, suspicious traffic, or an unverified connection and block them before the page finishes loading.
A software update, refreshed threat database, changed DNS filtering rule, or new network policy can also cause a previously working site to be blocked without any change to the site itself.
Platform and version differences
The exact steps and labels may differ across desktop and mobile devices. Look for settings named Web Protection, Threat Protection, Real-Time Protection, Safe Browsing, Link Scanning, Exceptions, Allow List, or Trusted Sites.
